The labeling of net content of quantitatively packaged goods is regulated by the State Administration for Market Regulation

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued a notice approving the issuance of the National Metrological Technical Specification No. 1 Amendment to JJF 1070-2023 "Metrological Inspection Rules for Net Content of Quantitative Packaging Commodities", which has new requirements for the marking of net content of quantitative packaging commodities. This specification will be officially implemented on October 12, 2024. The details are as follows:
 
JJF 1070-2023 National Technical Specification for Metrological Inspection of Net Content of Quantitative Packaging Goods
 
Amendment No.1
This amendment was approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation on April 9, 2024 and will be implemented from the date of its publication.
JJF 1070-2023 "Rules for Metrological Inspection of Net Content of Quantitatively Packaged Goods" modifies the following content:
 
1、 4.2.1.2 Composition of net content labeling
Amend the third paragraph to read: "The numerical part in the net content label should not exceed 3 significant digits. For example, label it as' net content: 5.55kg '.".
 
2、 4.2.1.4 Significance of net content labeling
Change "Net content labeling should be clearly visible in bold font" to "Net content labeling should be clearly visible".
 
3、 Implementation date
The implementation date has been changed to October 12, 2024. Goods produced or imported before the implementation date can be sold until the end of their shelf life.
